The Division of Applied Clinical Science is one of two divisions in the Department of Pharmacy Practice & Science (PPS). The division is composed of faculty members focused on the provision of patient care and application of both basic science and clinical research in practice. Faculty practice at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics, the College of Dentistry, the Iowa City VA Health Care System, Mercy Hospital in Iowa City, Family Medicine Residency training programs in Sioux City, Mason City, Des Moines, Waterloo and Iowa City, and at the College’s Division of Drug Information Service. Members of the faculty teach extensively in the classroom, pharmacy practice laboratory and in the clinical setting where they deliver introductory and advanced pharmacy practice experiences. Additionally, faculty teach pharmacy practice residents and are engaged in the training of other health care professional degree students and resident physicians. Members of the division are involved in research regarding the clinical use of medications and in the scholarship of teaching.
