Staff Spotlight is an initiative sponsored by the College of Pharmacy Staff Council to celebrate the incredibly talented staff within the college and to facilitate awareness and understanding of the unique individuals who make up the pharmacy family. Staff members in a variety of roles and departments will be featured on a rotating basis.

Kayla Lalor, Alumni Relations Coordinator

Tell us about your role at the College of Pharmacy.
I am the college’s alumni coordinator. That means I get to do a lot of event planning, and interacting with alumni. I also get to work closely with members of the Genesis Board. I love my job simply because it allows me to continue building positive relationships with our alumni, in addition to finding new ways to connect with them. I also have the special task of making sure Dean Letendre shakes the hand of all 5,000+ alumni.

If you could have an endless supply of any food, what would you get?
Anything my mother makes. Paula Deen doesn’t even come close to measuring up (pun intended) to her cooking.

If you were an animal, what would you be and why?
I would be a bald eagle. They are a majestic, beautiful, well respected animal.

What is your favorite music genre?
It really depends on my mood, but in general, I like all kinds of music.

Where would you most want to travel, but have never been?
I would love to leave my footprint in all 7 continents. I’ve only been out of the United States twice, and it was to the same place both times (Jamaica), so I don’t feel as if I’ve seen the world first hand. There is so much to learn and experience about different places, people, and cultures, and I want to experience that.

Please tell us about this photo.
This photo is one of my most recent accomplishments. I ran a half marathon: A bucket list item I’ve been trying to do for four years. Injuries, having kids and life in general kept getting in the way, so it was very special for me to accomplish this.
