The University of Iowa College of Pharmacy reaches out into communities across Iowa, the nation, and the world. From students focusing on global health opportunities, to lobbying for the college, to pharmaceutical manufacturing, the College of Pharmacy has a wide-reaching impact. Our student organizations provide services to members of our communities through blood pressure and diabetes screenings, medication take-backs, and health fairs.
Through global outreach, our students are able to travel the world, meeting the needs of underserved populations and learning about health risks in other countries. Interested students have the opportunity to choose between a joint PharmD-MPH degree program or a PharmD Global Health Certificate.
The College of Pharmacy, through educational efforts, works to impact the policies and attitudes toward pharmaceutical care, development, and the college itself through its advocacy group - the Pharmacy Hawkeye Caucus.
Additionally, the college is home to three service units that enhance pharmacy and health sciences:
- Division of Drug Information Service
- The University of Iowa Pharmaceuticals
- High Throughput Screening Facility
