The Division of Applied Clinical Sciences (ACS) is one of two divisions in the Department of Pharmacy Practice & Science (PPS). Its faculty members focus on the provision of patient care and application of both basic science and clinical research in practice. Faculty practice at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics, the College of Dentistry, the Iowa City VA Health Care System, Mercy Hospital in Iowa City, and Family Medicine Residency training programs in Sioux City, Mason City, Des Moines, Waterloo, and Iowa City.
We offer Introductory and Advanced Pharmacy Practice Experiences.
Members of the faculty teach extensively in the classroom, pharmacy practice laboratory and in the clinical setting where they deliver Introductory and Advanced Pharmacy Practice Experiences. Faculty also teach pharmacy practice residents and are engaged in the training of other health care professional degree students and resident physicians. Members of the division are involved in research regarding the clinical use of medications and in the scholarship of teaching.
