Page Crew, a P3 originally from Salem, Va., was recently selected as one of five national One to One Patient Counseling Recognition Program student honorees by the American Pharmacists Association (APhA). Page was nominated based on her work as a student intern, her dedication to underserved populations, and involvement in leadership activities.

According to Clinical Assistant Professors Susan Vos, PharmD, BCPS, and Stevie Veach, PharmD, BCPCP, who submitted Page’s nomination, “[She] continuously and tirelessly goes above and beyond to educate patients as a pharmacy intern and a student pharmacist.”

As a student intern, Page not only does a great job educating patients, but also knows all the right questions to ask a patient before making a recommendation. She almost always positions herself at the drop-off/pick-up area where she has the most access to patients. Also, Page doesn’t wait for patients to come to her with questions. She is always in the OTC aisles assisting patients with finding products and answering their questions.

As a One to One Patient Counseling Recognition Program honoree, Page will receive complimentary registration to the 2013 APhA Annual Meeting, as well as airfare, and a stipend for hotel and other expenses.
