Christopher Efobi, '54 BSPh, traveled by steamboat from Nigeria to attend the University of Iowa College of Pharmacy. On July 5, Efobi's family visited the college from their home in Georgia to see firsthand where their father and grandfather had studied.

During his days as a student, Efobi was featured in the Daily Iowan, providing insight into some of the cultural differences between Nigeria and the U.S. (scroll to page three). Upon graduation, Efobi returned to Nigeria to practice pharmacy until his death in 2003.

While at the college, Efobi's son, daughter-in-law, and grandchildren toured the current Pharmacy Building and saw construction and plans for the new building. Efobi's legacy continues with his grandson—also named Christopher—who is a high school student considering a career in health care.
