Chris Parker—a pharmacy specialist in the college’s Division of Health Services Researchis one of six UI recipients of this year’s Board of Regents Staff Excellence Award.

The $1,000 award is given to staff members whose accomplishments have significantly benefited the University of Iowa, brought it honor or recognition, and had a significant positive impact on the state of Iowa. The award provides a statewide forum to recognize staff members in conjunction with colleagues from the other Board of Regents institutions. 

 

Parker serves as the director of clinical pharmacy services for Collaborative Healthcare Solutions (CHS), a new business venture created as part of Barry Carter’s research team. The team provides clinical pharmacy services enhancing care for patients who have a high risk of cardiovascular disease, diabetes, and other chronic conditions.

 

Parker was nominated by Korey Kennelty, with letters of support letters from Gail Ardery and Jennifer Barnes. Awardees will be officially recognized at the UI’s annual Faculty and Staff Awards Banquet on Oct. 10.
