In the Spotlight is an initiative to celebrate the incredibly talented people and teams within the college and to facilitate awareness and understanding of the unique individuals who make up the pharmacy family.

In the Spotlight: David Lam-Lu

This month, we learn about David Lam-Lu, Administrative Program Coordinator for the Professional Experience Program (PEP) in the Department of Pharmacy Practice and Science.

Tell us about your role at the college.

I support faculty and staff with maintaining the rotation system, coordinating communication with PEP constituents, and appointing preceptors and adjunct faculty.

Tell us about your photo.

My all-time favorite food is two heaping bowls of Vietnamese Pho Soup Noodle. I had just bought 30 pounds of beef bones to make pho and was admiring this ox-tail after de-packaging.

What’s your favorite thing to do in the summer?

I love the fresh fruit and vegetables that grow from my parent’s garden in the summer – malabar spinach, arugula, taro, sponge squash, thai basil, perilla, amaranth, bitter melon, green onions, leaks, white peaches, baby mustard, Chinese cabbage, etc. I also love Summer of the Arts and all of the outdoor festivals, music, and activities in our community. Aside from these, hammocks, the sun, ducks, and ukulele huddles by the river are pretty great.

If you had to describe yourself using three words, what would they be?

In three sets of three words:
Our administrative coordinator
Is wicked awesome
Get 2 know him

What would you do if you won the lottery?

I would cover my siblings’ education and send my parents on a roundtrip, all-expense paid vacation across Asia. If anything is left, I would plan a personal trip to Sweden’s five-week Herräng Dance Camp, invest in a Thai-inspired rolled-ice cream freezing plate machine, and start the process of building a house with a decked-out kitchen, a pillow room, lazy river, and drawbridge.
