Two students work on making hand cream in the Pharmacy Practice Lab

The University of Iowa College of Pharmacy reaches out into communities across Iowa, the nation, and the world. From students focusing on global health opportunities, to lobbying for the college, to pharmaceutical manufacturing, the College of Pharmacy has a wide-reaching impact. Our student organizations provide services to members of our communities through blood pressure and diabetes screenings, medication take-backs, and health fairs.

Through global initiatives, our student pharmacists and faculty participate in outreach globally, often to meet the needs of underserved populations and learn about health risks in other countries. Student pharmacists have opportunities to travel the world. They also may elect to pursue a dual PharmD-Master of Public Health (MPH) degree, a Certificate in Public Health, or a Global Health Certificate.

The College of Pharmacy, through educational efforts, works to impact the policies and attitudes toward pharmaceutical care, development, and the college itself through advocacy efforts.
