Elisabeth Donahey is a native Iowan who graduated from Marshalltown Senior High School. She graduated from Northwestern University in 2006 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in psychology before deciding to pursue her Doctor of Pharmacy at the University of Iowa College of Pharmacy.
Donahey returned to Chicago in 2010 to complete a PGY1 pharmacy residency at the University of Illinois College of Pharmacy, where she was introduced to critical care pharmacy practice. She went on to complete a PGY2 critical care pharmacy residency at Emory University Hospital in Atlanta, Ga.
In 2012, Donahey returned to Chicago to practice in the neurosciences intensive care unit at Loyola University Medical Center, where she currently practices. She also accepted a position as lead clinical pharmacist in 2014, which allows her to continue clinical duties in the neurosciences intensive care unit while becoming more involved in administrative duties.
