University of Iowa Health Care is currently accepting applications for Acute Care Clinical Pharmacists to provide patient care services in the Department of Pharmaceutical Care. This Clinical pharmacy practice program offers patient-care-unit based multi-disciplinary practice opportunities in pediatrics, transplant, oncology, neurology, internal medicine, critical care and other specialties. Clinical pharmacists provide pharmaceutical care services, including drug therapy review, pharmacokinetic dosing, anticoagulant monitoring, provision of drug information services and continuity of care activities such as admission and discharge medication reconciliation, beside counseling/patient teaching as well as teaching PGY1/PGY2 residents and Pharm. D. students. Minimum Qualifications: • Pharm. D. degree or B.S in Pharmacy and one year of applicable experience • Current licensure or able to sit for licensure by the Iowa Board of Pharmacy • Excellent written and verbal communication skills • Job related experience with and/or commitment to service excellence • Job related experience with and/or commitment to diversity in the work environment Desired Qualifications: • Satisfactory completion of an ASHP-accredited PGY1 residency in hospital pharmacy practice is desirable. • Minimum of one year clinical experience in oncology, hematology, and/or BMT is highly desirable. • Health system pharmacy experience is highly desirable. • Completion of ASHP-accredited PGY2 residency in Oncology is highly desirable. • Board certification in Pharmacotherapy or Oncology is highly desirable.
