The Pharmacy Director is a working department manager who is responsible for ensuring the provision of comprehensive pharmaceutical care services to all patients and customers in areas of responsibility. This position provides leadership for department services through collaboration with employees, other departments/services, and customers. This position also provides guidance and oversight to the medication use processes across the continuum of care to ensure these processes are organized, systematic, and monitored on an ongoing basis. o EDUCATION & TRAINING REQUIREMENTS • Completion of a B.S. or Pharm.D. in pharmacy required. • Iowa Pharmacist licensure, either by examination or by reciprocity, is required. • Basic Life Support certification required. o WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS • Previous managerial or supervisory experience (2-3 years minimum) in an acute care pharmacy or complex health care organization preferred - all levels of experience will be accepted.. • Demonstrated competence in the area of medication use processes and monitoring required. Must demonstrate managerial and leadership abilities. • Significant skill and knowledge in IS applications / automated technology is desired.
