We are seeking a pharmacy or medical student who is interested in learning more about clinical research. Northeast Iowa Family Practice Center is the medical home for NEIMEF and its associated Family Medicine physician residency program. The John E. Sutherland Clinical Research Center at NEIFPC has been participating in industry sponsored clinical drug trials since 1992. Most clinical trials involve experimental medications used to treat metabolic or cardiovascular conditions. This position will assist study staff in patient recruitment, enrollment, and related tasks.
Candidates for this internship should:

• Be able to work independently on assigned projects
• Possess an automobile for occasional travel

• Exhibit ingenuity and problem-solving skills
This internship is based at the Northeast Iowa Family Practice Center at 2055 Kimball Avenue, Waterloo, Iowa. Typical work hours will be 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday through Friday. Occasional early morning or evening work may be required. NEIMEF will work with the candidate to accommodate any personal days. The Research Center will be closed on Memorial Day and Independence Day. Free housing (e.g. dorm room style) will be provided in a facility which is physically connected to the clinic.
The position is for 13 weeks. It will start on May 16 and end on August 12.
The intern will receive compensation of $12.75/hour.
