The Department of Pharmacy Practice and Science at the UI College of Pharmacy will host Regional Preceptor Development Continuing Education Programs throughout the state of Iowa.

Program Title: "When Disabilities Intersect Experiential Education"

Event Description: The Americans with Disabilities Act Amendments Act of 2008 (ADAAA) affords protections to persons with physical or mental impairments that substantially limit one or more life area. Between 1 and 3% of graduate or professional students have disclosed a specific learning disability. Preceptors are positioned to allow for reasonable  accommodations for students with disabilities given adequate time, resources, and knowledge to address the accommodations. 

Program Schedule:
5:30 pm-6:00 pm:  Registration
6:00 pm-7:00 pm:  Dinner
7:00 pm-8:00 pm:  CE program

The program and dinner are offered FREE to all current UI College of Pharmacy Preceptors. Pre-registration is required. Participants will receive 0.1 CEU (1 hour) of Law Continuing Education credit following the attendance and completion of an online exam and evaluation.
