The Pharmacy Curriculum Outcomes Assessment (PCOA) is a 225-question assessment intended to measure performance in the Doctor of Pharmacy program. This examination is administered in computer-based format and covers four content areas: Basic Biomedical Sciences (10% of the assessment), Pharmaceutical Sciences (33% of the assessment), Social/Behavioral/Administrative Sciences (22% of the assessment), and Clinical sciences (35% of the assessment).
The administration of the PCOA to third-year pharmacy students nearing the completion of their didactic curriculum is now a requirement for accreditation.
