Students, postdocs, and faculty in the Division of Medicinal and Natural Products Chemistry attended the 53rd Annual MIKI Meeting, the Medicinal Chemistry Meeting-in-Miniature, at The University of Kansas from April 10-12.
On Nov. 20, 2014, PhD candidate Quynh Hoa Nguyen successfully defended her PhD thesis to the Division of Pharmaceutics and Translational Therapeutics.Quynh’s thesis title was “Risk assessment for drug degradation products using physiologically-based pharmacokinetic models.”
The College of Pharmacy is exceedingly pleased to report the Iowa Board of Regents approval of the schematic design, project description, and budget for the construction of a new facility during their recent meeting in Iowa City.
Philanthropy has helped many Iowa students achieve success. Two of those students – fourth-year pharmacy students Katy Rolfes and Stephanie Thrall – recently shared their educational experiences with members of the University of Iowa President's Club at the Iowa Memorial Union.
John Swegle, PharmD, associate professor (clinical) was recently installed as president of the Iowa Pharmacy Association (IPA) for the 2014-2015 term. Dr. Swegle began his pharmaceutical career after receiving his Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy from Drake University.
On April 2, a handful of students, faculty, and administrators from the College of Pharmacy – including Dean Donald Letendre – were among the nearly 200 University of Iowa representatives on hand at the annual Hawkeye Caucus Day at the Iowa State Capitol in Des Moines.
