Department of Pharmacy Practice & Science

The Professional Experience Program (PEP) is an administrative component of the Department of Pharmacy Practice & Science that develops and manages the experiential portion of the Doctor of Pharmacy curriculum. 

  • Introductory Pharmacy Practice Experiences (IPPE) are for First, Second, and Third Year Student Pharmacists
  • Advanced Pharmacy Practice Experiences (APPE) are for Fourth Year Student Pharmacists
  • Over 30% of the curriculum is practice-based experiences
  • Nearly 2,000 practice experiences are delivered each year by college faculty and adjunct faculty preceptors from Iowa, the U.S., and around the world
