Dr. Jeff Reist is a Clinical Associate Professor and Director of the Pharmacy Practice Laboratory at the University of Iowa College of Pharmacy. He maintains a practice site as the clinical pharmacist on the interprofessional team at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics Department of Family Medicine Geriatric Clinic. He is a graduate of the University of Iowa College of Pharmacy (BS Pharm) and the University of Florida College of Pharmacy (PharmD). He is Board Certified as a Pharmacotherapy Specialist by the Board of Pharmaceutical Specialties. Prior to returning teach at the University of Iowa in 2003, Jeff practiced in hospital, community and long-term care pharmacy practices and served as a preceptor to pharmacy students.
Dr Reist's research areas include innovations in teaching and improvement in the care of patients with dementia. He is particularly interested in the appropriate treatment of behavioral symptoms in patients with dementia.
Dr. Reist practices as a Clinical Pharmacy Specialist in Ambulatory Care at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics. His primary area of practice is in the Department of Family Medicine Geriatric clinic where he serves on an interprofessional team caring for older adults. Prior to returning to the College of Pharmacy to teach full-time, Jeff worked in hospital, community and long-term care pharmacy practices.
