The College of Pharmacy Executive Leadership Board, led by Dean Donald E. Letendre, was established in 2010 to advise the College of Pharmacy as it develops and works towards its strategic goals and visions. The members of the board meet periodically to discuss the college's strategic plan, curriculum changes, fundraising, facilities, and trends in pharmacy practice, research and drug technologies.

Michael Brownlee, '01 PharmD, MS, FASHP, serves as the Chief Pharmacy Officer at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics, is a Clinical Associate Professor and Associate Dean at the UI College of Pharmacy. In this capacity, he serves as an Ex-Officio member to the Board, representing the UIHC Pharmacists and the Pharmacy Profession.
Roderick (Rod) Cavin, BS, MBA is a principal at Zensights and co-founder of Patient Health First. He is a proven leader in the bio-pharmaceutical and medical device markets with extensive expertise and knowledge of U.S. and EU market access.
Dennis M. Erb, ’84 Ph.D., serves as Managing Director of University of Iowa Pharmaceuticals (UIP), following an extensive career as Senior Vice President of Global Regulatory Affairs at Merck. In this capacity with UIP, he returned to the Board as an Ex-Officio member, representing the largest FDA approved University-associated CDMO in the US.

Kate Gainer, PharmD, serves as the Executive Vice President and CEO of the Iowa Pharmacy Association (IPA). In this capacity, she serves as an Ex-Officio to the Board, representing the Pharmacy Profession in Iowa.
Lisa Gersema, '84 BSPh, '86 PharmD, is the Director of Pharmacy at United Hospital in St. Paul, Minnesota and served as the Immediate Past-President of ASHP.

TJ Johnsrud ’66 BSPh, is founder and President of NuCara Pharmacy, now NuCara Management Group, which oversees community pharmacies and home medical equipment sites in six states, along with pharmacies providing sterile compounding and specialty medications. Dean Letendre elected TJ Johnsrud to continue his prior service on the Board in his new capacity as Chair in Fall 2021.
Donald Letendre, BSPh, PharmD, FASHP, is Dean and Professor of the University of Iowa College of Pharmacy. Previously, he held those titles at the University of Rhode Island, and was executive secretary of the Rhode Island State Crime Laboratory Commission.
