The University of Iowa Foundation seeks to advance the University of Iowa and fulfill the aspirations of those it serves.

The University of Iowa Foundation was organized in 1956 to help the university meet needs beyond those provided for by state support, and to reach new levels of distinction by generating significant private gift support.

A nonprofit IRC Sec. 501(c)(3) organization, the University of Iowa Foundation is independent from the University of Iowa. Located in the Levitt Center for University Advancement, the foundation is governed by a volunteer board of directors that elects its officers and appoints its staff.

The University of Iowa Foundation is the preferred channel for private contributions that benefit all areas of the University of Iowa. The university’s dedicated contributors fund a broad array of needs, from student scholarships, breakthrough research, and life-changing health care to innovative facilities, community outreach, and global education.
