The University of Iowa (UI) College of Pharmacy is pleased to announce that UI Pharmaceuticals (UIP) has validated its new $26M sterile processing facility in the College of Pharmacy building. The manufacturing division completed its first revenue-generating project in June in the new space, a 16,000-square-foot facility that encompasses the lower level of the new building.
UIP, complying with Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP), has twin high-capacity fill lines that are fully automated and contained in ISO 5 isolators, a high level of cleanroom standards. Both lines are equipped with TelStar Lyomega 80ST lyophilizers, adding the capability to manufacture larger clinical and commercial batches, which are now being booked through year-end.
Join us in congratulating the entire UIP staff who have worked tirelessly to achieve this milestone.
UI Pharmaceuticals is a division within the College of Pharmacy that designs, develops, tests, and produces medicines for use in clinical trials to support the development of novel drugs.
