Tom Devlin, '84 BSPh
Completed one year of Junior College to satisfy some pre-requisites; Came to IOWA in the Fall of 1980 and experienced 4 wonderful years! I desired a role in Health Systems Pharmacy as a hospital registered pharmacist, and my first position out of IOWA was at IUPUI Medical Center in Indianapolis. I learned so much in those 4 years that I was there. I worked in centralized and decentralized services just as hospital pharmacy was becoming more clinical. It was a great experience. Fast forward several decades and I finished my career at another teaching hospital, OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria, Il. While there, I was a residency preceptor while working in various areas, IV admixture, outpatient infusion, investigational studies, Oncology and anti-microbial stewardship. I retired in June 2023 after 39 years of Pharmacy work life! Go HAWKS!!
