🖤💛 Love is in the air at the UI College of Pharmacy! Some students successfully obtain their degrees during college, and find their lifelong partners. Such is the case for alumni pharmacy sweethearts, Jan and Tony Caskey, '94 BSPh. 🖤💛
The class of 1994 was a close-knit group that spent countless hours studying together in the Health Sciences Library, where Jan and Tony Caskey—then classmates—later formed a lasting partnership. Their special bond grew from the coincidence that both had grown up loving Lake Okoboji in northwest Iowa—a love that continues today, with Okoboji remaining a cherished summer destination for the entire family.
After graduating, the Caskeys both accepted positions as retail pharmacists in Louisville, Kentucky, working for Hooks SuperX (later acquired by CVS), and were married in 1995. Returning to Iowa each fall to attend Hawkeye football games became another shared tradition, providing opportunities for many joyful reunions with former pharmacy classmates. The couple have held season football tickets since 2000.
The Caskeys went on to work for CVS for 26 years. During that time, Tony held a variety of leadership roles, ranging from district manager to vice president of operations. Currently he is president of Sonrava Health.
Together, they have raised five children, and their journey—shaped by the many opportunities pharmacy provided—has taken them across four different states.
