Event Overview

Research Day provides a forum for the UI College of Pharmacy community to highlight ongoing research, scholarship, and scientific inquiry across its programs. Graduate and Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) students will present posters and oral work that foster interdisciplinary learning and collaboration. Jeffrey R. Bishop, ’03 PharmD, will deliver the keynote address. He will offer insight and expertise to enrich the day’s scholarly engagement.

  • Bio: Jeffrey Bishop conducts psychopharmacology and pharmacogenomics research with a focus on examining genetic relationships with symptom improvement, side effects, and cognitive effects of medications. He also provides clinical and didactic education to pharmacy and medical trainees. He earned a degree in biology at Luther College and went on to complete his Doctor of Pharmacy degree at the University of Iowa (UI). Subsequently, Bishop completed a fellowship in clinical psychopharmacology and pharmacogenetics at the UI College of Pharmacy and earned a master’s degree in clinical investigation through the UI Carver College of Medicine. His research has been supported through local, foundation, and NIH funding mechanisms.
