Lorin Fisher, PharmD, BCACP
Introduction
Lorin Fisher is a Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of Pharmacy Practice & Science at the University of Iowa College of Pharmacy. She is board-certified in ambulatory care and practices as a Clinical Pharmacy Specialist in the Adult Supportive & Palliative Care Clinic at the University of Iowa Hospitals & Clinics.
In her clinical practice, Dr. Fisher closely collaborates with interprofessional team members, develops meaningful relationships with patients and caregivers, and engages with pharmacists in the community setting to facilitate care transitions. She enjoys precepting student pharmacists, pharmacy residents, and hospice and palliative medicine fellows, facilitating the growth of their palliative care and ambulatory care knowledge and skillset. Dr. Fisher serves as the program director of the PGY2 Palliative Care/Pain Management Pharmacy Residency at the University of Iowa College of Pharmacy.
In the classroom, Dr. Fisher educates PharmD students about palliative care and management topics, and enjoys exploring such topics through rich discussion.
Her diverse research interests include the anticholinergic burden of medications, barriers to prescription opioid access, and evaluating toxicities of cancer-directed therapy.
