Abbey Hanten completed a PGY1 pharmacy residency program at United Hospital in St. Paul, Minnesota, and currently works at Methodist Hospital in St. Louis Park, Minnesota (part of HealthPartners Health System).  At Methodist Hospital, Abbey primarily staffs the emergency department and general medicine floors. She serves as the primary preceptor for the University of Minnesota APPE Acute Care students and a preceptor for emergency medicine and general medicine residency rotations.

Palliative Care Certificate Impact: The palliative care certificate program demonstrated the importance of ensuring the patient is at the center of their care and continuously advocating for the patient's wishes, especially in emergency situations. It provided me with the skills and confidence to manage pain and other symptoms appropriately in my day-to-day practice.
