Jeffrey Reist, '82 BS, PharmD
Jeff Reist is a Clinical Associate Professor and Director of the Pharmacy Practice Learning Center at the University of Iowa College of Pharmacy. He practices at The University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics Department of Family Medicine Geriatric Clinic where he is a member of an interprofessional team specializing in the care of older adults. His special interest areas include treatment of behavioral symptoms of dementia, deprescribing of potentially inappropriate medications in older adults, and treatment of substance use disorders. He is a graduate of the University of Iowa College of Pharmacy (BS Pharm) and the University of Florida College of Pharmacy (PharmD). He is board-certified as a Pharmacotherapy Specialist by the Board of Pharmaceutical Specialties. Before returning to teach at the University of Iowa, he practiced in hospital, community, and long-term care pharmacy practices. Jeff has been a career-long member of the Iowa Pharmacy Association. Jeff is married to Diane Reist, a transitional care pharmacist at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics. They have two daughters Lauren Reist PharmD who is finishing her PGY-2 Pharmacy Administration Residency at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics and Hailee Reist MD, who is finishing her residency in orthopedic surgery at the University of Vermont Medical Center.
