Patrick Davis, '73 BSPh, '76 MS

Professor Emeritus, University of Texas at Austin
Biography

After graduating from the College in 1976, and postdoctoral training from 1976-78, I took a faculty position in the Division of Medicinal Chemistry at the University of Texas College of Pharmacy. I progressed through the ranks of Asst., Assoc., and Full Professor, and served as Senior Associate Dean for 25 years. My teaching focused focused on drug metabolism and pharmacogenomics (P1), infectious diseases (P2 & P3), academic preparation (P4), and directing our Pharmobility international pharmacy exchange program with European schools. I retired in 2022, but continue teaching my Advanced Antibiotics elective (P3), and my University Freshman Signature Course on "Diseases That Changed the World".

Tamera and I continue to live in Austin, close to our two children (Chelynne and Matthew) and our two grandchildren (Owen and Declan). Retirement focuses on travel, including Texas sites we haven't had a chance to see, U.S. National Parks, and international travel.
