Biography: Sophia Brown completed her pre-pharmacy prerequisites and doctor of pharmacy degree at the University of Iowa. She is currently a PGY1 Pharmacy Resident at the Iowa City VA Hospital in Iowa City, IA. After completing a PGY1 residency, Sophia's goal is to complete a PGY2 in an area of interest.

Palliative Care Impact Statement: The palliative care certificate has greatly impacted my career. It has taught me how to communicate empathically and advocate for patients within an interdisciplinary team. I also learned how to alleviate suffering with pain management and symptom management. I will continue to take all of these skills with me in each of my practice settings.
