Developing Soft Skills

Focus: Growing your professional identity

  • Professional behaviors that get you noticed and open doors (You Do NOT Want To Get Noticed For The Wrong Reasons)
    • Show up 5-10 minutes early consistently, respond to or send follow up emails within 24-48 hours, be proactive in setting deadlines, follow dress code, ask for feedback weekly (not just when required), give preceptors enough time (72+ hours) to provide you feedback on presentations/projects
  • Define Personal Values of Success and how they may translate into future roles
    • Read Crucial Conversations to strengthen conflict resolution and communication skills.
