The Flanagan Technology Center was inaugurated on January 6, 2012, at TherDose Pharma in Hyderabad, India.

The center is named for the college’s own Doug Flanagan, in the Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences and Experimental Therapeutics. Dr. Flanagan was the advisor for SciDose LLC co-founder and chief scientific officer, Nagesh Palepu (PhD 1984). TherDose Pharma is the Indian subsidiary of SciDose LLC.

TherDose Pharma was founded in 2004, and features a state-of-the-art research and development manufacturing site. The company specializes in the manufacturing of commercial oncology products for the Indian and Asian markets.

In addition to naming the technology center for his former advisor, Palepu has shown his gratitude for the University of Iowa College of Pharmacy by endowing the Palepu-Flanagan Professorship in Physical Pharmacy with a $750,000 pledge.
