On February 28, pharmacists, students, and friends from across the state gathered in Des Moines for the Iowa Pharmacy Association’s Legislative Day, and the University of Iowa’s Health Science Day. The goal of these events was to showcase the top-tier programs and services offered by healthcare professionals in Iowa, and visit with legislators about policies affecting the pharmacy profession.

In the morning, College of Pharmacy students and alumni joined their peers from across the state at the Iowa Pharmacy Association downtown for a briefing on the issues that attendees would be discussing with legislators. In the afternoon, various attendees provided health screenings, visited with legislators, and attended educational sessions.

Dean Letendre was on hand to meet with several members of the legislature, as well as staff and fellow pharmacists.
