This month, we are learning about Mary Ann Cull, an administrative services specialist in the Office of the Dean.
Tell us about your role at the College of Pharmacy.
I serve as the pharmacist reviewer for the PharmD learning ePortfolio reflections, which help students make the connection between their various learning experiences and how they meet the PharmD curriculum learning outcomes. Students also use the reflections to describe how they will apply this learning as a pharmacist. I have also assisted with reaccreditation documents and academic and professional records.
Why did you choose this line of work?
When I was nine years old I had neurosurgery at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics and saw the dedicated healthcare professions. I knew I wanted to help people as a healthcare professional. In tenth grade, a school presentation on professions that apply science and math inspired me to be a pharmacist.
What is your favorite musical genre/artist?
I like various types of music: country, easy-listening, contemporary Christian, classical, soft rock, big band, and classic old school like Sinatra.
What is your favorite things to do in the summer?
I enjoy swimming, traveling, good conversation, and good food with family and friends.
What’s the first thing on your ‘bucket list’ and why?
I'd like to make a return trip to Italy and spend more time in Rome and the countryside of Italy. Italy has beautiful churches, scenery, culture, warm engaging people and of course excellent food.
What do you like to do in your free time?
I spend time with friends and family, volunteer work, read and watch the Cubs win!
