Aliasger Salem—Bighley Chair and professor of Pharmaceutical Sciences and head of the Division of Pharmaceutics and Translational Therapeutics—was featured for being part of a team that helped drive a record-setting nearly $600 million in external funding to the UI in FY19.

The research team, led by Ned Bowden, associate professor in the Department of Chemistry, was awarded $750,000 from the National Science Foundation to develop a natural growth additive in fertilizer that aims to improve crop yields. Read the full article in Iowa Now.
