Students, postdocs, and faculty in the Division of Medicinal and Natural Products Chemistry attended the 53rd Annual MIKI Meeting, the Medicinal Chemistry Meeting-in-Miniature, at The University of Kansas from April 10-12.
The MIKI meeting included formal oral and poster research presentations by graduate students and postdoctoral research associates. Students from the University of Iowa presenting included: Ben Williamson (oral presentation), Michael Hayes (oral presentation), Ernane Claudio de Souza (poster presentation), Chris White (poster presentation), Brigitte Vanle (poster presentation), Colin Higgins (poster presentation), Ioana Craciun (poster presentation), Justine Winstead (poster presentation), Nick Vance (poster presentation), Rondine Allen (poster presentation), Sondra Dean (poster presentation), and Victoria Parker (poster presentation).
The meeting featured a keynote address from Dr. Bruce Roth, Senior Vice President of Small Molecule Drug Discovery Genentech Research and Early Development.
The Departments of Medicinal Chemistry and Pharmacognosy at the Universities of Minnesota, Iowa, Kansas, and Illinois at Chicago alternately host the MIKI meeting. This meeting is the longest running conference of its kind bringing together graduate students, postdoctoral fellows, and faculty members from the four universities.
