In the Spotlight is an initiative to celebrate the incredibly talented people and teams within the college and to facilitate awareness and understanding of the unique individuals who make up the pharmacy family. 

This month, we learn about Jill Soppe, human resources associate for the Colleges of Pharmacy and Law.

Tell us about your role.
At both the Colleges of Pharmacy and Law, I support human resources activities. At the College of Pharmacy, I support the recruitment process, assist with HR reports and compliance tracking, complete HR appointments/transactions, and manage files in e-Personnel. My role at the College of Law includes assisting with the onboarding and offboarding process, responding to HR questions from employees and supervisor, creating the monthly staff newsletter, and serving as the Wellness Ambassador.

What field of work did you begin in?
I have always worked in HR.

What made you choose this field of work?
I was drawn to the many different career paths you could take in HR, and the opportunity to interact with and have an impact on people in their work lives.

What's your favorite thing to do in the fall?
Visit pumpkins farms with my family.

What was the last picture you took on your phone?
It was of my older daughter in her Halloween costume at dance class.
