In the Spotlight is an initiative to celebrate the incredibly talented people and teams within the college and to facilitate awareness and understanding of the unique individuals who make up the pharmacy family. This month, we learn about Kellie Waechter, administrative services specialist in the Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences and Therapeutics (in PSET).

Tell us about your role.

I’m responsible for the budget, seminar program, graduate recruiting, job searches and annual MIKI meeting in PSET.

What field of work did you begin in?

My first job was as a metered ad coordinator at Yellow Book in Cedar Rapids (now known as Hibu).

Tell us about your personal photo.

The photo is of my nephews (Brady and Brooks) and I on my wedding day last summer.

What was the last picture you took with your phone?

Vaulted ceilings (my husband and I are building a house this spring)

What is your favorite childhood memory?

Going to the lake on the weekends with my family.

What is your favorite music genre?

Country

If you could have an endless supply of any food, what would it be?

Ice cream!
