Ways to Get in Front of Our Students/Alumni
Post Job/Internship Openings
The College of Pharmacy uses the university’s job posting system, Handshake, to share job and internship opportunities and information sessions about organizations and residency programs with our students. Visit the Handshake platform If would like to let current students or alumni know about an opening or event.
Pharmacy Residency Info Sessions
As with job and internship opportunities, the College of Pharmacy uses Handshake, the university's job posting system, to share details about residency informational sessions. Students will be directed weekly to review Handshake for information on residency information sessions.
Please Note: We do not have a bulletin board to post flyers and cannot send attachments through the listserv.
Weekly Email Push
During the academic year, weekly emails are sent to current students. We are happy to include a push in the email directing students to look for your opportunity posted in Handshake. The notice will read: “The following organizations have posted recent opportunities in Handshake, please check out…”.
To be included, list your company name, position, and if you want this targeted to a particular class year. Submit to tammy-fraser@uiowa.edu or pharmacy-ope@uiowa.edu. Weekly emails are typically sent Thursday morning.
Tabling at the College of Pharmacy
We have reserved the lobby monthly for employers to table during the 12:30-1:30 pm block when class is not in session. Employers may arrive by noon to set up. Up to five tables will be provided on each date. If you are interested in reserving a table, please contact the director of Student Success at tammy-fraser@uiowa.edu or pharmacy-ope@uiowa.edu.
P4 Career Prep Event
The P4 Career Prep Event is typically held on a Thursday and Friday between our fifth and sixth rotation cycles (late October/early November). This event is more an educational than a recruiting event, but there are various ways that employers can participate to meet our graduating class including conducting CV reviews, mock interviews, and participating in a networking event.
The sign up for this event will be available during summer for the fall. To be included on the invitation list, email pharmacy-ope@uiowa.edu with "Career Event Mailing List" on the subject line.
