Rampant use of antibiotics in our society has led to an ever-growing number of “superbugs”: drug-resistant bacteria. By using antibiotics optimally – called stewardship – Erika J. Ernst and her team are slowing down superbugs.

The American Pharmacists Association Academy of Student Pharmacists (APhA-ASP) at the UI College of Pharmacy once again coordinated an Operation Immunization campaign this fall. This initiative is designed to increase the public’s knowledge about immunizations while increasing the number of adults receiving vaccinations. 

Mousa Abuissa fell in love with the University of Iowa when he first visited Iowa City. Now, he has earned two degrees from the institution - a Bachelor of Arts in music and a Doctor of Pharmacy.

The great-great-great granddaughter of Emil Boerner—a founder of what is now the University of Iowa College of Pharmacy—graduated from this same college on May 11.

On the morning of May 6, 2017, over 150 of the UI College of Pharmacy’s students, faculty, alumni, and friends gathered in downtown Iowa City to attend the second annual Zada Cooper Leadership Symposium, an opportunity for the pharmacy community to celebrate and advance their leadership roles in their professions, volunteer organizations, and personal lives.
