UI Pharmaceuticals has been awarded a National Center for Advancing Translational Sciences (NCATS) contract, “Dosage Form Development, Manufacture, and Stability Studies of GS-441524” by the Office of Logistics and Office of Administration at the National Institutes of Health (NIH).

Research conducted by fourth-year Pharmaceutics graduate student, Jackson Russo, investigates alternative treatments for chronic wounds like bedsores and diabetic ulcers.

“Test and Treat” is the term given to a new law signed by Governor Kim Reynolds on May 19, 2021. This newly signed legislation (SF 296) will allow patients six years and older to enter their local pharmacy and receive testing to determine whether they have the flu, strep, or COVID-19.

UI Pharmaceuticals recently contracted with G1 Therapeutics by manufacturing clinical drug supplies of an investigational drug therapy product called COSELA™.

Malaria is still a life-threatening disease in much of the world today. According to the World Health Organization, in 2019, there were an estimated 229 million cases of malaria worldwide.

This year, 43 UI Doctor of Pharmacy graduates—representing 39% of the Class of 2021— pursued post-graduate pharmacy residency programs. Our match rate exceeded the national match rate by nearly 10%.  

The UI College of Pharmacy and UI Graduate College proudly hosted commencement ceremonies for 112 Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) graduates and seven Doctoral Degree (PhD) graduates with a concentration in Pharmacy. 

The University of Iowa Mobile Clinic is partnering with the Johnson County Department of Public Health (JCPH) in an effort to provide health care to local, underserved populations who are statistically more likely to be affected by COVID-19.
