PharmD students at the UI College of Pharmacy go to great lengths to get out messages that could save lives; they do everything from wearing a kangaroo costume, to having difficult but vital conversations.
With more than 150 people in attendance, the UI College of Pharmacy hosted the Third Annual Zada Cooper Leadership Symposium on May 5. The event started in 2016 as a tribute to Zada Mary Cooper, the first female tenured faculty member in a college of pharmacy in the United States.
Thirty-nine members of the of the UI College of Pharmacy—PharmD students, PhD students, residents, fellows, and faculty—presented posters during the university's Health Sciences Research Week on April 16-19. The theme was The Connected Brain.

Grant Jerkovich—a third-year student in the College of Pharmacy—was among four UI students to receive a Distinguished Student Leader certificate at the 101st Finkbine Dinner on April 10, according to a story in IowaNow.
First year PharmD student Guadalupe Chavez has known she’s wanted a rewarding career since high school. After several volunteer experiences and exploring options throughout high school, she discovered how many opportunities there are with pharmacy.
Nora Garda, a Senior Chemist at UI Pharmaceuticals (UIP), was recently featured on KCRG-TV9 for participating in a group flash dance in Iowa City. The group danced a type of German choreography called the Nelken Line, which celebrates the four seasons.
