Michael J. Akers, ’72 PhD, and Christopher J. Decker, ’88 BSPh will be recognized with the 2016 University of Iowa College of Pharmacy Distinguished Alumni Awards on Sept. 29, 2016.

After spending 30 years as a UI College of Pharmacy professor, Keith Guillory is still giving back.

The University of Iowa plans to honor two friends of the college with the 2016 Honorary Alumni Awards on Sept. 29: Melissa Murer Corrigan and Bernard Sorofman.

Pharmacy innovator Sandra Leal, PharmD, MPH, addressed PharmD students at the UI College of Pharmacy today, urging them to seek out their own pioneering paths in the field.

The UI College of Pharmacy has announced the 2016 recipients of the Genesis Award: Deanna McDanel, ’01 PharmD, and Francisco Velázquez, ’03 PhD.

Holly Lauer is an administrative services coordinator in External Relations. Some of her main duties include updating the building monitors/kiosks, creating events on the College of Pharmacy website, taking photos at events and assisting with collegiate event planning.

The 110 students in the UI College of Pharmacy class of 2020 are spending their first week participating in a host of professional engagement activities.

On Aug. 15, the UI College of Pharmacy welcomed 13 new graduate students to its programs. These students are pursuing advanced degrees in Clinical Pharmaceutical Sciences (CPS), Medicinal and Natural Products Chemistry (MNPC), Pharmaceutical Socioeconomics (PSE), and Pharmaceutics.

​​​​​​​Michelle Fravel, ’06 PharmD, was selected as the recipient of the 2016 College of Pharmacy Award for Teaching Excellence. Fravel is a Clinical Assistant Professor at the University of Iowa College of Pharmacy with primary teaching roles in Therapeutics, Foundations of Pharmacy Practice and the Pharmacy Practice Lab series.

It may not feel like it outside, but the University of Iowa’s Homecoming celebrations are just around the corner. This year, the College of Pharmacy’s annual activities will be bigger and more significant than ever, and all alumni, faculty, staff, and friends are encouraged to join the fun!
